Eat Healthy-Favorite Fall Recipes

Improving one’s overall health can be an important step when trying to conceive.  With the changing seasons and baked good around every corner, it is hard to eat healthy!  We wanted to share with you some of our favorite fall recipes for staying healthy by incorporating more whole grains, fruits, and veggies into your autumn diet.  You can enjoy all your favorite fall flavors while staying healthy!

Healthy Maple Pumpkin Muffins:  When the temperature is cool, nothing is more tempting than a delicious baked treat!  This recipe from Cookie and Kate calls for whole wheat pastry flour which gives you the fluffy muffin texture you love but also substitutes healthy whole wheat in place of refined white flour.  It also uses a healthier sweetener, maple syrup, in place of refined sugar.  These muffins are sure to satisfy your baked goods cravings without any of the guilt!

Harvest Salad with Maple Balsamic Dressing: When trying to conceive, it is important to fill your diet with healthy greens and antioxidant packed ingredients (like cranberries).  This delicious salad makes eating spinach a treat instead of a chore.  Find the recipe at ( http://wholeandheavenlyoven.com/2015/10/26/bistro-fall-salad-with-apples-candied-pecans-maple-balsamic-dressing/ )

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup:  Butternut squash is a great source of antioxidants, carotenoids, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C.  This soup makes it easy to incorporate all those healthy things into your busy schedule and is even gluten free!  You can put everything into the slow cooker and go about your day…and then come home and blend it up for a warm, healthy, and satisfying dinner.  If you have any leftovers, this soup reheats great for lunch the next day.
